My bestie Capri surprised me on Christmas with a ticket to see the new Syracuse Stage produsction of Rent and to get back in the mood Ive been listening to both the broadway and movie cds (basically the same, but so much to love about both)
Here are some awesome vids of some of my favotite scenes from the 10 year anniversary broadway concert, with some killer performances by the always reliable Idina Menzel, Jesse L Martin and Adam Pascal. I hope I dont ball my eyes out at the finale, but im sure i will, cause I always do, its too powerful. Theres only now, theres only here...well, you know the drill. Live it.

Top 5 Tinas!

ChrisTINA Crawford. Well, not really the real Tina crawford but the two doughy toe-heads that played her in the immortal comedy "Mommie Dearest" If you cant quote at least 5 lines from this movie, skip ahead to the next Tina (whom you probably wont appreciate either) I so wish I could have found a pick pf older Tina when shes doing laundry with Moms Dearest and is wearing the do-rag. Dont know why thats always stuck with me.

Tina Turner. Because shes a dang-dong legend thats why!!!! I was so happy to see her in concert about 12 years ago and she was like 102 THEN, and brought down the house. The following clip is 9 minutes of sweat, hair and briliiance, Its my new "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo"



Tiny Tina. EVERYONE has seen or heard of Tiny Tina. Some strange, small version of this sideshow "freak" has been making the State Fair rounds for years. I remember paying a quarter or some shit to see her in high school. The posters promise this 2ft tall smaller than a dog woman, and you go in and there she is, not quite as small as 2ft, sitting there watching soap operas, eating Funyuns and sweating like a pig-let. Everyone just stands around and looks at her for a minute and leaves. It was fab! So like I said, some "Tina" is till touring with the fairs, maybe its her daughter or grand-daughter. Ah, who cares, enough of this.

Tina Fey. Dont ya kinda wish you were her bestie and could spend the day in bed with her watching old Three Stooges shorts and eating Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes? I swear I could watch "Baby Mama" 50 more times and STILL laugh at every joke.

Tina Yothers. C'mon she was fug personified and played second banana, even to cute little Andy. I found this pic comparing her to Ma Gorg and couldnt help myself from reposting.

BESTIES: MY TOP FIVE CURRENT OBSESSIONS

The all-time bast Muppet Movie in moi's opinion. (Though the Great Muppet Caper comes in a close second) The songs were great, the celebrity cameos were super-duper great, and they finally got married. ♪♪ Because you share a love so big. I now pronounce you frog and pig ♪♪

Speaking of weddings, my sister (on the right) recently married the love her life (on the left, obviously). They were married on the beaches of Cape Cod with a big reception coming up this week at an upstate winery. It is going to be the party of the year ya'll. Open bar, killer band and alot of Irish folk = a hangover that will be well worth it. Im very happy for them. Congrats!!

Also this week, EnVogue are reunited and playing at the New York State Fair. I CANT WAIT. They are and will always be the best girl group, don't even try to argue that. I currently have been listening to their music everyday, I cant get enough. Their individual voices and harmonies are nothing short of perfection. So many of their songs are connected to great memories of the past. New album due out in September. WORD!

I was first introduced to Jeremiah Weed Sweet-Tea Vodka while visiting a friend in St. Louis. It sounds kinda hicksville but it is flippin delicious. On the rocks, with a splash of lemonade or added to your own sweet-tea. It is hard to find up here in new York but you should really give it a try....it packs quite a punch!

Last but certainly not least is Joe Manganiello, who plays the werewolf Alcide on "True Blood." His acting is kinda stinksville but who cares about his acting, I mean c'mon, just look at him.

WEEDS SEASON 5!! I LOVE everything about this show, especially the cast. Everyone on this show is awesome. I dont know who I love more between Mary Louise Parker and Elizebeth Perkins. This show gets better with every season, and how great to be able to rent the entire season and watch it over a weekend.



SEWING!! After all these years I finally asked Miss. Capri to show me the basics and I love it! Mind you, Im only pumping out square pillows right now, Im no De la Renta, but I love the feeling of being creative again. its been a long time since Ive felt the creative surge!
